Përmet and the River that Runs Wild

Përmet and the River that Runs Wild
The Vjosa is Europe’s last wild river, and riding beside it is like cycling along a living vein. It twists, rushes, breathes. From the high bridges, you watch her foam and thunder, white against stone.
We reached Përmet at golden hour, when the houses seem to glow. Known for its hospitality and flowers, the town welcomed us with raki and sweet gliko. Nearby, the Bënja hot springs offered warmth and steam under a medieval stone bridge.
At night, the stars stitched patterns above the canyon. The sound of the river became our lullaby.
To ride here is to feel freedom in motion. Untamed and unforgettable.
